HERE IT COMES!

I believe that the book I called Red Banned I worked on is coming out either this week or next. But I did mess up the title of the book. Its actually called Zenescope Presents SciFi and Fantasy Illustrated #2. Sorry about that. But the story inside is Red Banned, but thats not the name of the book. Ok, so I got a little excited about the story..lol! But keep your eyes out for that, it should be out in the next week or 2 (I hope) if its not out already.

Today I'm working on the new pages to Grimm Fairy Tales #50 (aw yeah) and working on a Fright Night pin up for an upcoming horror con a buddy of mine is going to this weekend.

The Hellboy print style (posted on yesterdays post below) is going over pretty well. I'm going work on another one next week and see how that one goes. Are there any characters you would like to see?

NEW DIGITAL SKETCH COLORING!!

At C2E2 in Chicago this past April, I was given an 11x17 black and white print to Sketch Color up for someone. While getting the print Sketch Colored up for the owner, I had a group of people watching me color it up and offer to purchase the print right there as is. Thats where I thought that maybe I should create a NEW kind of Sketch Coloring. DIGITAL SKETCH COLORING! This is where I color only "partial" picture (like a regular Sketch Coloring).

Currently I have ONE for sale right now (the Hellboy pic below). I just want to check and see first if there's any kind of buz about these before I start creating more. So let me know what you think about this..and if there is a character you would like to see digitally Sketch Colored. Hit me up either with an email or on FaceBook.

SUPPORT HELP? REALLY?

I wonder about people sometimes. So I'm trying to figure out how to sinc up my dreamweaver program to my web server and at the same time chatting with "support" for the server to help me out there. Well he said everything is fine on their end and that I would have to contact Adobe. I did, and they said everythings good on their end and that I have to contact your web server. They keep pointing figers at eachother, and in the meantime, I'm pointing a finger at them too! But everything is cool with the site and me updating it, I just have to do one extra "little" step to upload the pages and updates. Its not a huge deal, just would be a help to do it the other way. Oh well..whatcha gonna do?

I am very excited to say that I have a really cool pin up to color for my buddy Jason Craig. Hopefully you'll be able to see it this weekend =)

IN addition to that, I'm working on my other pages for Grimm Fairy Tales #50!!! AW YEAH! Pretty stoked! So keep an eye out for a little "teaser" coming soon..hehe

ITS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKFULLY things are back to normal on the computer again with the way things looked. I forgot one little thing to do and it really messed up the way pictures and everything looked on the screen. PHEW! Thats all over.

Last night I finished the Domino Lady cover! The background is pretty cool! Hopefully the editors will think the same thing ;)

TONS of people are off to SDCC this week. To all that are going, have a GREAT TIME!! Bring me something back..lol!

STRESSFUL WEEKEND!

In general, things just kind of happen out of nowhere and sometimes you can get them fixed, and then other times you cant but try to get by w/out them. Well, in this case, I'm kind of doing both.

This past weekend I was lucky enough to have some kind of Windows Update that FREAKIN KILLED my C drive again! I dont know whats up with Windows, but I'm SO SICK OF THEM!! So with my having to get pages done and a cover done this weekend, it didnt happen because I couldnt even use my computer. But then, when I did get the computer to at least work (like now), I had to reinstall EVERYTHING again that I had on my C drive. When everything was up and the computer was at least working, the power goes out for a couple of hours all on the north side of Chicago pretty much! WELL CRAP!!! So the stress level right now is still a little high...but I'm trying to get my stuff done on pages and the cover which are stretched because of my screen...UUUGGG!! Just very stressed when you dont know what to do and people are telling you, but you dont know what the hell they are talking about..lol!

Ok, thats was my venting session. Sorry about that!

But the coloring is going good, getting new pages this week for Grimm Fairy Tales #50 and finishing the Domino Lady cover today and getting that sent out. HOPEFULLY everything with this website is ok with having to reinstall Adobe. UG!

SATURDAY

Today I'm working on a new Domino Lady alt cover by the amazing Jason Metcalf! So keep an eye out for it very soon =) (dont worry, I'll have more info on it too here) ;)

CRAZY DAYZ!

The past couple of days have been very interesting. But I did however get a plane ticket to Dallas VERY cheap (well I thought it was). Even though they charge for the bags, they dont charge for the carry ons. But even with the bag charge round trip, the price was still not bad =)

This weekend though is going to be a busy one for sure. Finishing up commissions, Sketch Colorings and a coloring commission. Then hopefully by Monday, I'll have the pages to Grimm Fairy Tales #50 to start on. I'm really looking forward to that because its the 50th issue! So dont forget to order Grimm Fairy Tales #50 at your local coimc store too ;)

FRAMED OR UNFRAMED...THAT IS THE QUESTION

I wish there was a way I can get you guys to comment on my blogs here on my site. I'm going to look into that. I know the programs are out there for that, I just need to find "one".

So here's the question. Would you purchase any piece of art or anything framed for that matter, online? Even though its going to be wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a box nice and cozy? Reason I'm asking, is because I was asked if I would sell any prints framed on my site. I wasnt really comfortable with that, but it is something I can offer. I just want to know from you if that would be a good idea or not.

STARTING ON A COLORING COMMISSION

Now that I have finished my submission pages and about to get a new book to work on from Zenescope, I have a little bit of down time where I can work on a really cool coloring commission. AW YEAH! This is pretty cool! Just think of Superman and Deadpool in a fight? Who would win?

BRAND NEW WEEK

Just another week closer to the "GOLDEN BIRTHDAY"! What? Whats a golden birthday? Yeah, it does sound kind of messy huh..haha!? Its just the age you're turning on the day you were born. So I was born on July 31st and I'm turning 31. Thats all. When you're younger, you have a bigger bday (from what I'm told). But whos to say I'm not going out for ice cream and cake =)

Really the only thing thats changing with Sketch Colorings is that I'm going to have a list of black and white sketch covers that I personally own for you to purchase. So in other words, if you dont have a sketch cover and not sure where to find one, you can check out the list that will be posted on the Sketch Coloring page here, choose the one you would like Sketch Colored, and I'll Sketch Color it for you and ship it out to you. IT NEEDS TO GO!!!

This TV SO NEEDS TO GO!! We right now have a 65" free stand TV which is HD and ready for a bigger home. Just in an apt, its kind of big. PERFECT for where we have it, but still kind of too big. So if anyone is looking for a 65" free stand HD TV (flat screen), let me know and have them email me...lol! It really needs to go

What new books are you getting today? Just curious because I have NO clue what I'm getting yet..lol!

CONS ARE SET FOR THIS YEAR

So even though its July, I finally have my con schedule all situated and set in stone (well most of it). There are 2 shows right now at the end of the year which are still kind of up in the air, but I have a feeling I'm going to at least 1 of them for sure! The other, may have to wait til next year. WHICH btw, I have my schedule for 2011 almost done. I'm going to be hitting different shows that I havent been to and a few repeating shows. But thats not going to be posted until either Dec or Jan. So there's time for that still.

I'm still working on the sample pages and let me tell ya, I'm doing a ton of investigating looking for character refs. AW YEAH, its awesome!!! So far, the pages are coming out GREAT!!

NEW COMIC DAY tomorrow! Because of the holiday on Sunday and the post office not being open on Monday, everything got pushed back one day. But I'm sure you've already figured that out when you went to the store and saw all the signs for tomorrows new comics..lol!

WELCOME BACK

Well welcome back from your nice extended 4th weekend. Hope you had a good one. Now back to reality..lol!

The Sketch Book is on hold. I have to change a couple of pictures because I had a couple of Marvel characters in there which I just found out you NOW need to get permission from Marvel to use any character and give them a percentage of sales (from what I understand). So to avoid that, I'm cutting out the Marvel characters all together but may have to readjust the book in whole (with all characters). So there is still one coming out, but it wont be for WWChicago.

This week I'm going to be catching up on commissions and sample pages. If you have a coloring commission you would like to add, please feel free to email me and get 'er added =)

ALSO, I'm going to be changing the Sketch Colorings page a little bit to show the different sketch covers I have that I can Sketch Color FOR YOU! So if you dont have any sketch covers and not sure where to get one, I'll have a list of sketch covers you can choose from and I'll Sketch Color it up for you and send it to ya. Hows that sound?

AND, I just finished coloring up the alt cover for Domino Lady! AW YEAH! That was a fun cover =) So be on the look out for that as well..

YUP YUP

Hope you had a great 4th weekend and 4th in general? Mine was pretty good. Just hung out at a friends house yesterday and chilled for a few hours with a BBQ. MMMM..I have to tell you, when he BBQs, he really goes ALL OUT! WOW! Ribs, burgers, hot dogs, chicken..pretty much, you name it. And even though we were all sitting outside in the humidity, it still wasnt too bad..at least there was a little breeze.

But back to work today. I gave myself some pretty steep deadlines to get some of these commissions done along with another round of samples =) Today also, I'm going to get everything done for the "sketch book" I'm putting together...then I can have that for WWChicago in Aug =)

KEEPING STRONG

Life can throw many things at you. You will go over MANY hurdles and bumps in the road. But one thing I always say is "KEEP GOING"! DONT STOP!! Its nice to hear from time to time about friends of mine who kind of got sidetracked from what they REALLY want to do in their lives and just hopped back on the road they wanted to do in the first place. Another saying I always say..well sometimes "This too shall pass".

So KEEP GOING STRONG! "May the schwartz" be with you

OH and for some reason today the "Little Shop of Horrors" theme song is stuck in my head and I'm working on a DominoLady alt. cover =)
